The Chicago White Sox (79-80) beat the San Diego Padres on Sunday by a score of 2-1. The White Sox continued their winning ways out west as they took two of three games from the Padres. It was the final road trip for the White Sox as they are now home for their final series against the Minnesota Twins. White Sox got some stellar pitching in San Diego from Davis Martin and Lance Lynn. Liam Hendriks recorded his 36th save of the season in Sunday's win. Elvis Andrus provided most of the offense in the series and has continued to impress while the rest of the White Sox have seemingly given up. Despite the series win against the Padres, the focus was on Tony La Russa and the rumors that he will be announcing his retirement on Monday. La Russa has been on medical leave since late August.
