The Chicago White Sox (77-79) avoided being swept and they also snapped their eight game losing streak by beating the Minnesota Twins on Thursday afternoon by a score of 4-3. The White Sox are now in sole possession of second place in the AL Central. White Sox starter, Lucas Giolito, had a rough first inning but settled down after that. Giolito went five innings and gave up two runs. Despite not hitting a homerun once again and only going 2-for-10 with runners in scoring position, the Sox offense did just enough to hang on for the win. Jose Abreu had his second double in as many games and local product, Mark Payton, got his first career RBI. The White Sox are now in San Diego for a three game series.
