The Chicago White Sox lost to the Kansas City Royals on Monday afternoon by a score of 6-4. Despite having the 7th best road record in all of baseball, the White Sox just can't seem to win at Kauffman Stadium. The White Sox had problems before the first pitch of the game. Sox starter, Michael Kopech, seemed to experience some knee or hamstring discomfort during his warm up pitches. After a team of Sox personnel watched over a few extra tosses, Kopech was given the green light to start the game. Right from the beginning, Kopech looked off. His velocity was down as he walked the first batter he faced. Clearly something was bothering Kopech yet he was kept in the game for a few batters more. Finally, Tony La Russa pulled Kopech and the Sox were headed for a bullpen game. Aside from the first and eighth innings, the Sox bullpen was able to keep the Royals in check. Kansas City's pitchers were definitely able to do the same for the White Sox hitters. As is the norm, Sox could not bring runners home in critical situations and could not hit a homerun.
