Is a bounce back game necessary in a preseason game? For Avs backup goalie Pavel Francouz it was.
Neither of the Avs goalie tandem has looked particularly great recently in the preseason, but Monday night was Pavel Francouz's chance for some redemption, and he showed more of what we know him to be in turning away 38 shots in route to a 3-1 Avalanche preseason win over the Dallas Stars.
It was the first preseason game that featured the vast majority of what the Avalanche will bring on a nightly basis this regular season, and the difference was noticeable. Artturi Lehkonen found the net twice while Evan Rodrigues finished the Stars off with an empty net goal.
