Why a theological framework
psychology will never adjust our view of the Bible the Bible will always accurately reflect the struggle, and the Truth in life and in science, including the subject of psychology God’s creation, redemption, and restoration effects how we view anxiety and mental health
Created by God
The Relationship of Fear, Sin, and Shame (Genesis 3)
We want to cover sin, whether it’s ours or just sin in the broken world Stress and eustress Developed by God, overdeveloped by Satan We can present all of it before God, the good, bad, and ugly Creation response + makes us aware of our brokenness
Values of God v. the world
World – perfect answers, safety and protection, personal control, solutions, stuff, knowing, now, peace and peace on earth, escaping struggle and suffering,
God – seeking and discovery, risk with his protection, acknowledging His control, the journey, people, being known, eternity and the grand plan, peace through the storm, what is happening because of the struggle and suffering
Redeemed by Christ – the Theology of Glory and the Theology of the Cross/Suffering
You can do better, think better, be better v. God is working in this Relying on the Spirit and the Body of Christ Naked and unashamed in the wrestling (Genesis 2:25) with Christ
The community context
The Body is not secondary Always experiencing Scriptures message and life in our relationship with God and one another
