If the best insights, ideas and thoughts of your day come through social media, television, or magazines, your future will be significantly limited.
Your brain requires stimulation and challenge to grow. Your mind is not your brain and it is not “simply something the brain does.” Your mind demands constant attention to avoid attrition.
The books you choose to read, the videos you choose to watch, the conversations you choose to entertain will determine the quality of your future. Read along the lines of your interest, read along the lines of your career, your goals, your ambitions and even your hobbies BUT READ!
There are social issues today which boggle the mind. Indoctrination into ideas which were criminal to discuss in public less than a decade ago is now sold as necessary curriculum in elementary schools. Simultaneously the basics of civic and business and economic structures are absent.
If you are a leader, by that I mean influencer at any level, you have an obligation to be informed. By reading 5 books a year ON ANY TOPIC (as long as it’s the same topic) you will be ahead of 90% of the population.
