LM1201 Colonoscopy

LM, Episode 1200, 4/3/23, (Remaster 129, 3/23/20), It is Easy to Be Depressed

I hope you had a great weekend.  Right before the pandemic, I got my first colonoscopy.  My wife, Twyla, says, “The preparation is the worst part,” which is like saying road construction is the worst part of Indiana, it’s all pretty bad.

Driving there, Twyla says, “I’m glad you’re taking care of yourself, I do want to grow old with you.”

“Twyla, could you not ruin this for me.”

The weirdest part was the nurse asked for my driver’s license for identification.  Are there people stealing colonoscopies?  I don’t think they know what it is, or maybe they do, who am I to judge?

The nurse asks all those questions, are you on any medication, do you smoke, and one is are you depressed.  I go, “Of course I’m depressed.”

That was a mistake.  That brings out a whole new page of questions.

Pythagoras said, “Concern should drive us into action, not into depression.”

When your business is struggling it’s easy to become depressed, I know I certainly do, but I hope you follow my lead and choose action over depression, which is easier said than done.

If you find yourself in a serious depression, please seek professional help or call the national suicide hotline at 800-273-8255.
