Years ago I saw the televangelist, Oral Robets, telling the world the Devil broke into his house and was strangling him. Oral said he hollered for his wife, she came a running, scared the Devil away. I can’t get Twyla to bring me a roll of toilet paper. If the Prince of Darkness shows up, I’m a goner
We laugh at that, but the exact same thing happened to my Aunt Maxine, although the police investigation never determined why she was in Oral Robert’[s house…but we got her back on her meds and the Devil’s leaving her alone.
It is a little known fact that, on his deathbed, Oral Roberts predicted 2020 would be the end of the world when the four horsemen of the apocalypse arrived, Death, Famine, a pandemic, and Keith Richards quits smoking.
Three years into the pandemic, I feel the world has changed in many ways, some good, some bad, but if Keith Richards can quit smoking, I can certainly adapt to these changes.
