LM1195 All I Got Was a T-Shirt

LM, Episode 1195, 3/28/23, All I Got Was a T-Shirt

Our daughter, Maggie, studied at Oxford one semester during college and all I got was a t-shirt.

I’m wearing my Oxford t-shirt at the comedy club one night and one of the other comedians asks,”Did you go to Oxford?”

“No, I’m not smart enough to go to Oxford.  I’m only smart enough to be able to pay for a daughter to go there.”

The day Maggie flew to England, my mom and I took her to the airport, watched her board the flight, then cried the entire way home.

The first person I see when I get back home is Maggie’s friend, Lydia.  Lydia is so excited, “Did Maggie get off to England.”

“Listen, Lydia, we’re not going to talk about Maggie for a couple of days because I’ve cried enough.”

Our grandson, Kai, is in England this week for a school, spring break trip.  The day he left, Maggie was at our house and she says, “I don’t think I could put a child of mine on a plane to England without going with him.”

“Really, I wouldn’t know anything about that.”

Take care and always remember laughter matters.
