LM, Episode 1170, 3/2/23, Girl Scout Cookies

Last Sunda.y I’m riding my bike on the Cincinnati Bike Trail.  As I’m passing a restaurant on the trail, three Girl Scouts and their moms are selling Girl Scout cookies.  The girls are yelling at everyone passing and one yells at me, “They’ll make you go faster.”  I don’t know about you, but I think that kind of creativity needs to be rewarded.

I stop and buy a box of cookies. As one of the moms is getting my change, I tell the three girls, “I can count on you three to have the good taste to not tell my wife about this little indiscretion, can’t I?”  Two of them are quick to agree, but the youngest looks perplexed.  She says, “I don’t know your wife.”

“Good, the less you know the better.”

I put the box of cookies in the back pocket of my bike jersey and head out for the remainder of my ride.  The first bike to pass me, the guy sees the cookies and says, “Good purchase.”

I go, “According to those Girl Scouts they’ll make me go faster, so next Sunday don’t expect to be passing me.”  

We both laugh and you know how much laughter matters.
