Today the Southeast Utah Health Department made several firm, 30-day orders in light of flattening the curve of COVID-19 in Grand, Carbon, and Emery Counties. Effective at 10 pm March 17th, all overnight lodging facilities including hotels, condos, RV parks, and campgrounds, can no longer check-in or rent to visitors on vacation. Dine-in restaurants, cafes, and pubs are also ordered to close to the public. We spoke to Elaine Gizler, executive director of the Moab Area Travel Council, about their new role in communicating the term 'closure' when it comes to the Moab area.
