Mowing Equipment Sparks 2-Acre Fire Near Lake Wildwood

Several small fires ignited here in Nevada County on Tuesday. The most significant was the Pleasant Fire, which burned 2 acres near Lake Wildwood.

On Tuesday the Board of Supervisors of Nevada County approved a contract with Nelco Architecture, Inc. to conduct a “highest and best use” study to develop recommendations for the future use of the Nevada County Courthouse in Nevada City. The study is expected to take a year to complete.
