When it comes to Adventures in Knitting…we won’t mention the Hobbitalong scarves, okay?  Okay.   Not that your hosts have been idle, as Karen is almost finished her Turtlepurl stripey socks, has started the Smocks of Love socks in some Koigu from her copious stash, and has almost finished one of her movie socks.  However more importantly, Karen is saving her pennies so she can…OMG GO TO RHINEBECK THIS YEAR.  :D:D:D:D  Meanwhile, Maggie has finished the Baby Chalice blanket she was triyng to get done before a baby shower, and has also finished her Kernel scarf.  Yaaay!  Also, your hosts are joining a team from their knitting group in the Sheep to Shawl competition at this year’s Royal Winter Fair and seriously you guys, we have come up with the most awesome concept ever.  SO EXCITED.

In Geek Squee, two more women are joining the cast of Star Wars Episode VII, there are two Reddit AMAs that we’ve been reading and drooling over (seriously, Pedro Pascal and Clark Gregg in the same week HELLO HAPPY PLACE), there’s an adorable music video made by eight year old girls about how science is awesome, and LEGO has FINALLY approved the female scientist minifig set.  Also, Karen has seen X-Men: Days of Future Past, and Maggie has read the new Harry Dresden Files book.  She’s also found an amazing group of fans called the Dresden Files Fan Filming that made their own (creator-approved!) fan trailer.

In Cravings, Covets and Crushes, if you’ve got 20 grand lying around you can become a corpse in one of the upcoming Song of Ice and Fire books to support charity.  Great gift–what could say “I love you” better than choosing what kind of gory death you get to have?  Also, we found some amazing Viking metalwork-inspired cookies by Honeycat Cookies, and sorry not sorry, listeners in Europe, we’ve found Etsy seller Shleep Yarns who is located in France and has seriously gorgeous hand-dyed silk yarns.
