Of course in Adventures in Knitting, both your hosts mainly have their Ravellenic Games projects to talk about, and not much else.  Well, except for a little gloating over hockey and gold medals, along with their thoughts on the opening and closing ceremonies of the winter games.

In Geek Squee, speaking of Olympics and knitting, the Finnish snowboarding team had a project that got a lot of coverage,  and if anyone’s spotted this project on Ravelry let us know.  We’ve also found some interesting information on knitting as code during the Second World War, as well as some hand-knit gifts for scientists at CERN.  There’s some discussion about recent comments from Marvel Studios about a Black Widow movie (as well as a somewhat ranty update on the topic from Karen), a trailer for Guardians of the Galaxy, and Karen has been buying some comics.  Meanwhile, Maggie has found some amazing recasting of Game of Thrones characters with Disney princesses and some familiarly-shaped sand dunes on Mars, and Karen’s heard a rumour of a Space Jam sequel (?!?) as well as a new miniseries for the show “Heroes”.

In Cravings, Covets and Crushes, we have another source for wonderfully geeky project bags (Karen is hiding her credit card as we speak), as well as an amazing Sherlock-inspired yoke cardigan.  Also, we need to amass an army to support the Agents of SHIELD Lego kit over on Lego Cuusoo, because Karen needs the Coulson minifig and Lola kit at the very least.

Want to share your thoughts on the movies/tv/science geekery we’ve discussed, or found something geeky to share? Comment here at the blog, email us at [email protected] or participate in the thread on our Ravelry group!  Want to know when new episodes go live or see the occasional bit of news?  Check out our Twitter feed (@knit1geek2)!  And as always, we have merch in our Zazzle.com and Zazzle.ca stores.
