In this episode, Maggie has passed her black belt testing!  Yaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay!

In Adventures in Knitting, Maggie’s been pretty busy with said testing, but that didn’t stop her from starting a shawl designed especially for her, which will be a gift for someone, as well as working on a pair of Sacre du Printemps socks and more squares for the Vivid blanket.  Karen is working on the same two things she was working on last time: her Urdr shawl and her candleflame stitch pattern socks, but she’s got plans for a Lilli Pilli shawl when she gets a little closer to getting the shawl or the socks done.  And of course there’s always the Rhinebeck sweater to consider…

In Geek Squee, Karen has her reviews of Jurassic World (meh),  Inside Out (SO GOOD) and the book “The Martian” (OMG SO GOOOOD).  Also, the cover model for the First Fall Knitty issue was Neil freaking Gaiman (modelling a pattern from the upcoming Geek Knits book), Pluto is still a dwarf planet no matter how sorry you feel for it and a girl challenges her local library’s robotics program for boys and succeeds!

In Cravings, Covets and Crushes, we have the perfect drinking glasses for stargazing nights, we saw a SUPER CUTE Chibi Baby Groot toy, a gorgeous shawl called “Happy Street” which is perfect for stashbusting some of those sock yarns you know you have, and there are more female scientist Lego sets to vote on!

WE’RE DOING A SWAP!  See the Ravelry board for details!  Signups close Aug. 1st!
