Kimbretta w/The Kicker & Chase

30 episodes - English - Latest episode: about 3 years ago -

Kimbretta is an author (of 'Bosses who Kill') and a certified life (business) coach who loves people and leadership. In her words, "Leadership is my Thang!" The goal of this podcast show is to help us all see ourselves more intuitively and encourage us to do our own work. Doing the work means becoming a better Leader-first in our own lives and then in the lives of those who live with, work with, and especially those who report to us at work. As Leaders we have a responsibility to own our CRAP. Be proactive about our own mental and physical health; so that the people that report to us at work or live with us at home don't have to endure the affects of our trauma, lack of training, etc. It's time stop abusing employees, knowingly or unknowingly. Here's the Kicker - Doing that requires you to take a look at you. The Chase - You can get better and I would love to help with that. Leadership-It starts with you. This show is not only for Bosses (Leaders) but for anyone aspiring lead more effectively in their lives, careers or relationships. We hope our listeners are inspired to Grow.. in every way.

The micromanager is probably the most infamous of all the bad bosses.  They reality is they suffocate people and they know it and they tend to believe it is a necessary evil.  The most frequent motivations for micromanagement are emotional insecurity, doubts regarding employee competence, or addiction to specific orders. The Outlaw Boss

November 23, 2020 05:00 - 11 minutes - 7.97 MB

New bosses must focus on building a team, not creating good individual relationships. It is very common for new managers to want to work toward getting their reports to like them. When new managers focus solely on the friendly connection, they neglect a fundamental aspect of effectual leadership, wherein a leader will employ the collective power of the group to improve individual performance and dedication. 1. Think you know everything. “As much as it may stroke your ego, to believe you kn...

Why You Mad Though? Stop being Defensive.

August 31, 2020 04:00 - 1 hour - 52.8 MB

Ever wonder why people get so defensive (or mad) when you talk to them about something they did that offended you? We can’t control others’ reactions or actions.  All we can do is “control” us and try to tailor our delivery in the best possible way.  Gaining insight around this widespread issue will help us all better tailor our reactions to this type of behavior. I know for me, this is a huge pet peeve, issue, annoyance, etc.  Being defensive when confronted, playing the blame game, or the ...
