Eddie Lawton is the founder and President of Lawton School, a specialist language learning and training company in the city of Gijon in northern Spain. Eddie is a native of Manchester in the UK and established his business in Spain with his Irish wife Maureen in 1973.
Eddie is a linguist, businessman and expert in the teaching of modern languages to learners of many nationalities. Eddie has both a Bachelor’s degree and a Master’s degree in foreign languages from Cambridge University in the United Kingdom. He is the author of two teaching books specifically written for Spanish-speaking learners of English and he has been the designer and promoter of many EU language learning and training projects. Eddie is a fluent speaker of Spanish, French and German, and he also has a high degree of competence in Italian, Romanian and Portuguese and has some knowledge of Dutch and Catalan.
