In numbers, chapter 31 we read about the Israelite war against the media night. God commands Moses to lead the army, the Israelites kill all the Midianite men and take women, children and life stock as plunder. The Israelites divide the plunder among themselves instructions on how to purify the soldiers and the plunder and instructions on how to distribute the spoils of war. Numbers 30 to the tribes of Rubin and God request to settle in the land east of Jordan River. Moses initially rebuke him. The two tribes promised to help conquer the land of Canaan. Moses agrees to their proposal warning them not to break the promise we see the have tribe of Manasseh also settles east of the Jordan and the chapter end with the settling of the tribes east of the Jordan river.
