Stress, necessary for life and an important element in the human animal's response systems. However, high degrees of or sustained stress is harmful and can lead to coping measures that are themselves causing harm. Life can be tough, stress can be debilitating for some - so how do you deal with this?
You are in control of what you do and how you act. You have no control over the external stimuli you're provided - people, places, events. Determining whether you'll become angry, sad or otherwise initially is autonomous in your system, five seconds later it's all up to you. Assuming command of your life takes time.
We discuss how to map out your causes of stress, address the ones you can and how to manage the ones you cannot. Firing toxic humans is a great skill, remaining in organizations that bring you anxiety is optional. Map your stress, eliminate what you can and then draw your ideal life. Map to that, it takes time, but if you're on a journey to happiness on a roadmap you created, the effect of external stimuli is minimal.
Take care of yourself.
This episode is here because someone lost their struggle with stress. I hope this helps you on your pathway to happiness.
