Teaching Your Kid to Deal With Adversity

Did any of you catch the Winter Olympics this year?  If you remotely paid attention, you probably caught at least some of the drama surrounding the Russian Olympic Committee and their female figure skaters.  There were positive drug tests, poor sportsmanship shown by at least one of their skaters after the event, and a lonely gold medalist sitting with no one to celebrate with.

Our children use sports to learn how to socialize, stay active, stay healthy, and most of important of all - deal with ADVERSITY. 

So what can we learn from the coaches of the ROC women's figure skating team?  What did they show (or NOT show) in competition in regards to their ability to help THEIR skaters deal with adversity, and how can we apply that to our kids?
