In 2020, the debate is raging: is college worth it?

In this latest episode of Illuminate Higher Education, Kiran Kodithala, CEO of N2N Services, and Diana Chen continue their conversation on the value of the college experience.

Kiran and Diana reflect on how their experiences at a four-year university empowered them to branch out and meet people from all different walks of life, encounter new perspectives and experiences, and explore new passions and ideas.

It’s hard to put a price tag on these life experiences, but colleges and universities have certainly done it, and it’s more than most average families can afford. Kiran explores the inner conflict that many parents share--how do I provide my child with the best possible opportunity without compromising their financial future with student debt?

Kiran notes that it is important to remember that even prestigious universities don’t turn out graduating classes full of millionaires. The reality is most college graduates will start out making an average salary, not necessarily one that can afford to pay off five- to six-figure student loans.

Listen now for Kiran’s advice on how to determine the value of a college education, why it’s definitely worth exploring community colleges and trade schools, and how gamification of education might be the key to the affordability and accessibility today’s students really need.
