Dr. Sanders obtained her doctoral degree from The George Washington University, completed predoctoral training at Tulane University Department of Neurology and Psychiatry, and completed 2-year postdoctoral training at The University of Virginia, Department of Psychiatric Medicine. In pursuit of connecting the bridge between psychology and medicine, Dr. Sanders became certified in Integrative Medicine for Mental Health. As a part of the integrative medicine approach, mindfulness techniques are utilized in the treatment process, along with nutraceuticals and botanicals. Dr. Sanders also using traditional talk-therapy, with a biopsychosocial model, educating her patients that the mind and body connection is bidirectional, in order to heal the brain, must heal the body and vice versa.
