Narcissists spend their life blaming you for the things they did.

Let that sink in for a moment.

If you've been in a relationship with a narcissist, you get it. It can be personal, professional, family or friend.  And it’s not until you’ve cut the cord that you see the manipulative tactics used to keep you small and wondering what’s wrong with you.  From gaslighting to love bombing and everything in between, you feel like you are stuck, need to change and when you finally wake up, getting out can seem far out of reach.

Licensed therapist Vanessa Reiser has been there. And because of my own story of being in the relationship with a narcissist, I gravitated to her message. Let me tell you, she doesn’t sugar coat when she shares… or runs.

Running is Vanessa’s own therapy. And since 2021, she’s been hitting the pavement to raise awareness of narcissistic abuse and domestic violence every June.  But this isn’t just any run. Vanessa takes to the road in a wedding dress. I told you she was different. And this year, it’s Connecticut that gets to cheer her on.

On this episode of HIListically Speaking, we get the low down of living with a narcissist. But also, a few important facts that every person should know including:

The difference between narcissism and narcissistic personality disorder and the red flags to look for.

How Vanessa found her way out of the abuse and into the therapy chair supporting others on their journey.

And where she learned about narcissism herself. You have to hear it to believe it.

Plus, how you can follow or even join Vanessa on her run June 1 and 2 to show your support.

Lace up, my friend. It’s time to take back control….
