We've often talked about The Emergency on this show, that's the name most of would remember being given The Second World War in this country. This year marks an unusual anniversary in the course of Ireland's history with The Emergency.
It's the 80th anniversary of the arrival of American soldiers to Northern Ireland during World War II. Over 100'000 Americans who quickly became known as "the yanks" had a strange time of it in Northern Ireland
