This week saw the anniversary of the first International Dublin Theatre Festival.
It opened in 1957 with 'The Rose Tattoo' - a Tennesse Williams classic that had played to packed houses on Broadway.
But in a tiny theatre that could hold just a few dozen seats, the play caused a panic that went right to the top of Irish society - including the Archbishop of Dublin and the Attorney General - and all because of a prop used in the production, leading to a police raid and the prosecution of the theatre's owner.
