I appreciate my partner for walking into couples therapy hesitant but open, holding my hand the entire way both literally and figuratively.

I appreciate that he values his individual growth as much as our joint relationship's. And that to us, these things are separate.

I appreciate that my partner and I figure out how to balance the private and public aspects of our relationship, checking in with each other the entire way.

I appreciate that it's impossible for us to remain stagnant, and that we both put in the effort it takes to grow.

I appreciate that when our couples therapist told my partner he "should leave me", he told her why she was wrong.

I appreciate him for loving me with patience, understanding, curiosity and honor.

I appreciate that we don't need each other, we want each other.

I appreciate that when asked what my partner finds sexy about me, he says it's the way I support him.

All of this comes up in this pod, and I truly believe it's quite a thing to witness. Even though I am one half of our relationship, as I listened back to this episode, I couldn't help but see us with a clear, fresh set of eyes.

We are the same us we have always been, yet we have stretched ourselves and turned toward each other as the time has ticked and the leaves have fallen.

There is no one I feel more at home around than G, because shining under the light of this love I have finally felt safe enough to come home to myself.
