She highlights the late 1980s when CVs were virtually non-existent, and she had to spend a lot of time building relationships whilst interviewing candidates to obtain detailed information about their jobs, what they wanted to achieve in making a career move and how she applied a similar approach to drawing up job descriptions from clients and a full understanding of their requirements when recruiting too.
In short, both involved finding common ground, being curious, learning about people, their jobs, businesses etc., and obtaining information to enable her to do the job to the best of her abilities.
