Labor Day weekend marks the unofficial end of summer for many Americans, with kids being back in school, the football season kicks off, and the days are getting noticeably shorter. The fall season is a great time for planting trees and shrubs and planning how to provide a habitat to support birds, butterflies and other garden wildlife.

Joining us on this #plantchat episode, podcast is David Mizejewski, a naturalist and television host with the National Wildlife Federation. He is an expert on restoring wildlife habitat by creating wildlife-friendly gardens.
David works to promote the National Wildlife Federation’s Garden for Wildlife program, which encourages people to plant native plants, to garden naturally, and to certify their yards and gardens as wildlife habitats. He's the author of the award-winning how-to book, Attracting Birds, Butterflies and Other Backyard Wildlife.
