This proverb, speaks a lot of truth. Good Teachers are important to us. They can help shape our lives. They can also be detrimental to our lives, like any authority figure.
They teach us! They instruct us! They guide us!

But, They Don't Do Stuff for Us. Nor should they. It is up to use to enter the doors they open for us.

I've had many teachers through the years, in elementary, high school, college, martial arts and other areas. All have taught me great things. However, none of them have taken me through the door. I had to enter on my own and with the lessons I learned, apply them to get to where I am today.
