In the eons that humans have existed on the planet, medical treatment has taken many forms.  Depending on where you grew up, what your culture was, and how you viewed medical treatment, your own traditional medical treatment may have taken different forms. For most Westerners, traditional medicine is modern, allopathic medicine conducted by university-trained physicians. But more and more, practitioners of modern medicine are discovering the value and efficacy of older medical therapies that may be traditional to indigenous populations, or may have been traditional to ancient civilizations.
