FWEP0002 Regrets will scare you shitless with Gary Vaynerchuk VaynerX Vaynermedia Our special guest today is best known for his work in digital marketing and social media as the chairman of New York-based communications company, VaynerX, and as CEO of VaynerX subsidiary, VaynerMedia. Please sit back and relax while listening to Gary Vaynerchuk. In this episode, we’ll be moved and inspired on how he differentiates men and women of influence.

Embrace your Differences Being influential can sometimes be natural or forced. It can be forced simply because people are expecting you to step up or someone is watching you. The influence that comes out naturally and willingly will be determined in the ability to adjust to individual differences. As human beings, we all have a fair shot on being influential.

Gary stated his point of view on influence by saying:
(3:03)“My viewpoints on women are exactly the same as my viewpoint with some men. They’re human beings that ran the world. I’m intrigued by the notion of the conversation of anything men, women,  minorities, to me I think it’s pretty binary , I think it’s humans versus other animals so you know obviously I understand the differences I think there’s an unbelievable amount of advantages for all sexes, all races to me I’m optimistic about that.
Advantage of being different Sometimes we are led by fear and lack of self-confidence to embrace our differences so we shy away from being influential. We fail to realize that what makes us different can make us shine. We just don’t recognize it.
(3:42) “Embrace your differences because they’re your advantages. I don’t ever have a great answer for other than I think there’s a lot of advantages to being a woman and that you should figure those out and execute against that.” Character matters
In life, we face different people and obstacles but we must never let go of our values and character. They are essential foundations to the kind of influence we will have.Gary V. clearly stated
(4:23) “I don’t think a lot of people think about influence, I think it’s natural, there’s a lot of words for it, charisma, popularity  to me the thing that I’m surprised by is how many people don’t realize that your interpersonal skill set  is probably the biggest variable to your happiness and  success in life.  One of the things I spend a lot of time thinking about is how incredibly naive it is to not be kind, to not be empathetic to not be grateful.” Let history be your teacherYou don’t need to experience something to be good at it, sometimes what others did right or wrong can be your ticket to a better future or business that them. (5:43) “I’m a very big fan of looking at history like all the answers have been in front of your face the whole time there are literally, very few people in the history of time that have created meaningful businesses and lasted a decade. So what I would tell people is instead of thinking you’re gonna be the once in a generation person that box the trends of how much time and effort and smarts and hard work  it takes to being successful Why don’t you look at the 20 plus years that took Amazon to get here and start realizing that it will take a lot of hard work and a lot of time.”
