Connecting with Jessica has been one of the most powerful connections I've made recently and I'm so excited to share this episode with you!

Jessica Chasnoff, Psy.D. is a psychologist & coach with nearly two decades of experience gently walking alongside women through transitions, often as they contemplate ending romantic partnerships that no longer serve them. Grizzly dog mama, mezzo-soprano, bird enthusiast,  lover of polarities, puns & dark chocolate, she has been ecstatically exploring her own un-coupledom for several years. She chooses to partner with her beloved canine companions, her dear heart friends, the amazing flora & fauna found in the Sonoran desert & her tea-stained, dog-eared collection of the poetry & prose writings of Mary Oliver.

What is an epic life for Jessica?  For me, the answer is summed up in the final lines from Mary Oliver's poem When Death Comes.    When it's over, I don't want to wonder  if I have made of my life something particular, and real. I don't want to find myself sighing and frightened,  or full of argument.  I don't want to end up simply having visited this world.  —Mary Oliver  That is to say, creating my EPIC life means I bravely, joyfully (and yes, sometimes begrudgingly) explore every nook and cranny of myself. I connect with awe. I fill my cup with my internal and external resources (nervous system regulation, my dogs, my friends, nature, poetry) and send out a prayer that my cup may overflow with love and wisdom from which others can benefit.  Living EPICally for me means stepping waaaay out of my comfort zone, living authentically, being willing to disappoint others rather than betray myself, and humbly accepting all the teachings I am offered (as painful as that can be sometimes). Living EPICally means that I am constantly reminded I will always be a student of life; to always have a beginner's mind. It means that I will fail, and then learn how to fail better. It means that I keep going when I'm discouraged. It means that I courageously, vulnerably and transparently offer myself, not for acknowledgement, but simply for the experience.  And it means being a badass dog mama.
