Hurt is something we all deal with,  physical and emotional hurt.  Often caregivers enter into their role of caring for aging parents and disabled spouses with this hurt already present in their lives.  The hurt can go deep and can be experienced daily.  The loved one you are caring for may even play a part in the hurt you are experiencing.

So how do you provide care for someone when you are hurting? It can be very difficult but taking the right steps, you can move past the pain or modify your role as caregiver.   The process of recovering from physical and emotion hurt often requires that you take similar action.  You must first acknowledge the areas of pain, you must then get support, avoid continuous re-injury and use the proper techniques to move forward.

The call-in segment of this episode also addresses calls received on the website call-in line from the Finding A Foothold community.  Listen and hear advice given to a caller regarding dealing with the guilt of no longer wanting to be a caregiver.   Also hear the return call from that caller with an update on her situation.
