The life you envisioned for yourself can become just a blurred hazy dream of long ago, when you enter into the role of caregiver to your aging parents or disabled loved ones. If you enter into this role without true support, it can leave you feeling cheated and resentful. Please know that the freedom you seek begins inside of you.

Your must learn to reach out to others for help, for strategies that you can use to restructure how you are providing care. Surround yourself with positive feedback, learn to move beyond always complaining. Then you must reconnect with your dreams and make positive changes. You can renew your hope, you can still take part in aspects of your dreams!

Caregiving will still be hard and have its challenges, but finding that place of refuge within, is the start. You can still find hope and maintain who you are while you are still providing care.
