The years passed. The river of time flowed by, as it must—summer to autumn, autumn to winter.

The weather grew fierce. The people’s hearts grew cold. The sea grew treacherous. And in turn, Queen Celadore grew fierce, and cold-hearted, and treacherous.

The friendship between her beloved subjects—the wizard Geath, Prince Arren, and her consort Way—had once brought her great joy and contentment. Now the smiles and embraces and soft laughter between them filled her with dread, and fear, and jealousy.

And in the bitter depths of one terrible midwinter, she resolved to confront them for their treachery...

As the toll of being trapped Between Worlds shows itself, Esmerelda asks for some mortal advice, Fimbly Dun goes looking for answers, and Tingly Grimbles has some choice words for a distant monarch.
