The Right Time to Start a Family with Mary Kate Love

I was torn on the best title for today's episode: "The Right Time to Start a Family," or "I am obsessed with Beyonce."

I actually laughed out loud at my dilemma. Do I go deep and profound, or lean into the humor - and reality - that aren't we all a little obsessed with Beyonce? I wondered would one drive more likability over the other? And, then again had to laugh, because isn't that the very tensions of being a modern woman?

Be fun, but not too fun! Work hard, but not too hard. Be serious, but not too serious. Be real, but not too real.

I've said it before and will say it again - damned if you do, damned if you don't. Damn.

So, I say, fuck it all. Mary Kate Love is a force to be reckoned with - a leader, builder, fierce friend, ambitious woman and full-on Beyonce super fan. 2020 has been a forced slow down for all of us, yet for MK this went deeper than the pace of work and life; it became a full-blown Fuck It All moment of redefining happiness, balance and priorities.

In our hour together, Mary Kate and I covered the magic of female friendships, Chicago pizza, being defined by what you do, and most importantly, the pivotal moment when a woman asks herself, "When is the right time to start a family?"

This was the cup of coffee with a dear friend I've been yearning for, and I'm grateful that I got to share mine it with the wonderful Mary Kate Love.
