Tyler shares this "how we built Cache story". He shares lessons learned building a product company and the challenges they've had to overcome.

About Tyler Green

Tyler and his brother were born and raised just outside the treeline of the Wasatch-Cache National Forest in Utah. They’ve always had skiing, mountain biking, backpacking, fly fishing, and just about every other outdoor activity right in their own backyard.   They took some time to travel the country and returned to Utah. What they found was that the love for outdoors spreads far and wide to those who seek to find it.

Their passion for adventure, paired with their combined professional background in sales, athletics, and marketing has uniquely positioned them to develop and introduce a groundbreaking innovation to the industry—the Basecamp System. The world’s first modular tailgate system.

The Cache Story

It was during a late night brainstorm at the family cabin with their late dad, Jeff Green (The Jeffrey Cooler) that they came up with the concept for the Basecamp System.

They'd always been a truck family, and had spent many hours sitting on open tailgates together sipping cold ones, and watching the sun go down.

Co-founder Dillon Green had the idea to create the worlds first locking tailgate pad for bicycles– but it wasn’t until he took the idea to the family that it expanded into the worlds first modular tailgate system.

What if, their father theorized, we could transform a tailgate from essentially wasted space into a functional hub complete with chairs, a cooler, and more?

The idea stuck, and within a few months they had a tech pack and initial prototype ready to roll! However...

In early 2017 their world came to a screeching halt when their father, Jeffrey Allen Green, passed away unexpectedly.

After a period of mourning, they came back more determined than ever to make Cache and the Basecamp system a reality in order to bring their father’s idea to life and honor his legacy.

After years of work finalizing the design and materials, attaining our patented status, and partnering with a trusted factory, they're aproud to say they have product in over 40 states across the US.
