In these two passages we get detailed descriptions of what the priests wear in service before God in the tabernacle. By examining this sacred dress code, we learn how we are to be spiritually clothed in Jesus. We will begin with “having put on Christ” (Galatians 3:27 and Romans 13:14). This will lead to other things priests in Jesus' kingdom should “put on.” This is the translation of the Greek word - endoo-oh which means literally “to sink into” (as sinking into, or put on clothes - often translated “clothed.” Both Ephesians 4:24 and Colossians 3:10 tell us to “put on the new self.”” Ephesians 6:11ff tells us to “put on the whole armor of God.” We also find in Colossians 3:10-12 that we are to “put on” several Christian attributes.
