Dr Bruce Johnson is an extreme physiology researcher at the Mayo Clinic, Rochester, Minnesota whose real laboratories are the extreme environments the world has to offer. He has conducted high altitude physiology research with climbers on Aconcagua in Argentina and free divers in Croatia. He has also conducted high altitude research over two seasons in Antarctica. Recently, as part of a NorthFace and National Geographic expedition to Everest he conducted extreme physiology research with the world renowned climber, Conrad Anker. 


This conversation explores the details of how to integrate the passions you may have outside of your conventional career and use them as an opportunity to do truly exciting things. Dr Johnson's work is an exploration of the extreme physiology of the abnormal in normal environments and the normal in the most abnormal environments.
