About James Breakwell

James Breakwell is a professional comedy writer and amateur father of four girls, ages eight and under. He is best known for his family humor Twitter account @XplodingUnicorn, which boasts more than a million followers. The account went viral In April 2016 and transformed James from a niche comedy writer into one of the most popular dads on social media.

James writes more than just family jokes. His Star Wars parody account @VeryLonelyLuke went viral in December 2015 and now has nearly 350,000 followers. Combined with James’ verified Facebook pageInstagram account, and other various comedy Twitter accounts, James has a total reach of more than 1.5 million followers. He also reaches thousands of daily readers through his three webcomics, Unbelievably BadUnfridgeworthy, and Wombat Dojo.

James has published two books, with several more planned for release in coming years. Only Dead on the Inside: A Parent’s Guide to Surviving the Zombie Apocalypse offered useful advice for how to raise happy, healthy children in a world overrun by the undead. Bare Minimum Parenting: The Ultimate Guide to Not Quite Ruining Your Child taught regular moms and dads to best overachieving parents by doing less.

How to Save Your Child from Ostrich Attacks, Accidental Time Travel, and Anything Else that Might Happen on an Average Tuesday, another comedy parenting guide, is scheduled to hit stores in November 2019. Prance Like Nobody’s Watching: How to Live Like an Exploding Unicorn, a guided journal for kids, is scheduled for release in early 2020.
