#012 On Today’s show we have John McCarthy of the Postmodern Patriot Podcast on the show. John is a former Marine Infantry Officer who is obsessed with individual performance in the realms of health, wealth, relationships, and the intersection of all three. He recently became a father last year, and like most dads, he was under a lot of stress.

Not only was John dealing with the stresses of becoming a father, but he did so in the midst of transitioning out of the military, graduating with his MBA, finding a new job, moving back to his home state of New Jersey, buying a house, and transitioning back into civilian life with his then pregnant wife. 

As you might expect, these compounding stresses caused John to gain a ton of weight in the midst of early fatherhood - poor sleep hygiene, no time to workout, ate whatever he wanted, etc. 

But as a former CrossFit coach with his L1 and L2 he knew what he had to do to get back into fighting shape. 

He just needed to get clear on his why first before he could come up with the how.
