#015. Hazzan, or Cantor, David Tilman of Keneseth Israel in Elkins Park, PA is this week's "Greatest Choir Director." Venerated Choir Director, Eph Ehly says, "Choir directors, stop competing! Stop feeling better than, stop feeling less than. Because, we are all small and all big. Each Choir Director and their choir are in their our own little tiny corner of the world." Therefore, each of us are the greatest choir director and the greatest choir in the world. David is a graduate of the Juilliard School of Music, where he majored in Choral Conducting. He was the student of Abraham Kaplan, conductor of the choruses on the premiere recordings of Leonard Bernstein’s choral/orchestral compositions. David was the long time cantor of Beth Shalom in Elkins Park and now directs the volunteer adult choir at Keneseth Israel, Shir KI. With Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur upon us, David shares with us how the pandemic shaped this year's high holy days at KI. L'Shana Tovah and G'mar Tov' to all who observe!
