Language shapes our view of the world and it can dramatically effect how we feel around others. When getting to know someone new, labeling them a “stranger” can be toxic.

 

Do you flat out ignore people you don’t know, even if they are friendly towards you? Do you grab things off of shelves in stores without acknowledging the person who you nearly bumped into, standing right in front of you? Are you flighty, do you run away or do you pull back in a conversation simply because you don’t know someone yet?
