Chris Kolenko Show

33 episodes - English - Latest episode: about 3 years ago -

My name is Chris Kolenko. Welcome to the channel. I started this podcast for a variety of reasons, but I am primarily focused on turning my general interest of environmental topics into a deeper understanding of the field. This includes everything from the sciences, public policy, civic engagement, psychology, history, and philosophy. These topics are very much related and deeply connected to our relationship with the environment, and I want to explore them with peers and experts.

January 03, 2021 00:24 - 1 hour - 194 MB

Kyle Pascoe joined me for the first episode of 2021 and seventh episode of the show.  The episode focused on the following three articles, but we also drifted away at points to talk about related topics.    Disclaimer: I make some positive and negative judgment calls about  certain politicians in this episode. Those judgments did not come off as  eloquently as I would have liked; however, I kept them in regardless of how they would be perceived.    1. https://www.theguardian.com/environmen...

Chris Kolenko Show #4 - David Straub - Shell Lawsuit, UK Reductions, Heat Risks, Energy & Inequality

December 07, 2020 04:35 - 56 minutes - 130 MB

Before I go into the description, I would like to note that this episode was recorded under time constraints. David and I only had about an hour. In a more ideal world, we would have talked about these topics for at least another 30-60 minutes, so it's likely very obvious that things were left out. Additionally, I am aware that I made mistakes during the final portion of the episode where we covered the research article. Some of my takes and statistics were quite a bit jumbled, but I kept th...

Chris Kolenko Show #1 - David Straub - CAFE, BP, Mini-Nuclear

November 16, 2020 03:02 - 1 hour - 160 MB

This is the first official episode of the show. Everything before this  was practice. I decided to change some of my long term goals and add structure to the show.   Goal #1: I want to turn my general interest of environmental topics into  a deeper understanding of the sciences and related fields.  Goal #2: Become a better communicator. Talking is difficult, especially  for long a duration on topics that I might not be that familiar with.  Goal #3: Regularly interview experts who can educ...
