Robert is author of the book When Workers Shot Back and Workers' Inquiry and Global Class Struggle. He is an associate editor of the Journal of Labor and Society. In years past he worked as a staff member and campaigns director for several NGOs working on debt, development, and ocean conservation issues, was Executive Director of the NGO Seaflow, and for two members of the Texas legislature. He has lobbied the UN, Congress, EU Parliament, and California Legislature on issues of ocean conservation and achieved the first international law protecting marine wildlife from industrial longline fishing. Most recently, he teaches undergraduate political science and no-profit management in the Master of Public Administration program at San Jose State University in California, USA.
