026 | The Next 3 Things

January 26, 2017 23:01

I use a productivity strategy I know as "The Next 3 Things" multiple times a day on most days. It's very simple, nonetheless I rely on it to take me out of gray-zone thinking and transform my mental state from one of procrastination to one of focus...

025 | The First Response Is Often The Wrong Response

January 25, 2017 22:40

If I could get a tattoo of something I've learned it would be "The first response is often the wrong response"...

024 | Fixed vs Growth Mindset

January 24, 2017 23:28

It's a battle out there for people like me who possess a predominantly growth mindset!

023 | Seeing Ourselves In The 4th Dimension

January 23, 2017 23:25

We can see through our eyes. But others can see us as we see reality through our eyes. I reveal two ways to see ourselves from a distance with a similar perspective to someone looking at us.

022 | Service to Self vs Service To Others

January 22, 2017 23:38

Alleged secret space program whistleblower, Corey Goode alleges he is in contact with beings from another dimension (Blue Avians) that have a message for humanity. Their message is that we need to transcend our current predominant "service-to-self" paradigm to one of "service-to-others" in preparation for coming events. Sounds great but I think it's easier said than done...

021 | The Productivity Pyramid

January 21, 2017 23:33

Meet Peter, Paul and Penelope. Peter is reactive with regards to his productivity. Paul is proactive. And Penelope is strategic. Paul and Penelope both have a todo list of sorts, but Penelope frames her list differently...

020 | "The lion doesn't care if a monkey in the tree is laughing at him."

January 20, 2017 23:46

Today America has a new President who has overcame ridicule to get elected. Which reminded me of a video from court proceedings featuring former Iraq President Saddam Hussein prior to being sentenced to death by hanging when he said the following when faced with ridicule: "The lion doesn't care if a monkey in the tree is laughing at him"...

019 | Judgement (part 1)

January 19, 2017 22:56

I like to to do personal development. I read and listen to books. I do courses. But what's the goal? I have distilled it as a mission to detach from Judgement oriented thinking. Instead of seeing things as good/bad/right/wrong/beautiful/ugly I am working to be able to simply observe free from Judgement. Easier said than done.

018 | You are not what you eat (You are what you absorb)

January 18, 2017 23:04

People say "you are what you eat". I feel we aren't and that's wrong.

017 | Pressure Feeds Productivity

January 17, 2017 23:49

I've learned PRESSURE feeds productivity. When we are faced with a looming deadline or have to catch a flight the next day in these moments when we are most pressured it's often the case when we get most done if not everything done. With an awareness of this distinction we don't need to wait for pressure to present itself, we can create it for our benefit.

016 | The Two Types Of People

January 16, 2017 23:55

I've observed there are two types of people. But I feel we can choose to switch between these types for our benefit depending on the situation if we have an awareness of them...

015 | The Human Game Theory ("It's all an elaborate hoax.")

January 15, 2017 22:29

What is this all about? One theory that attempts to answer this seemingly eternal question is: The Human Game Theory. If we accept it in our lives as truth what would the consequences of forming such a belief?

014 | Anxiety, who really wins?

January 14, 2017 21:15

Ever get angry at the slow hesitant driver in front? Who wins? Well, certainly not you. And they don't really lose anything. I share what i'm working on to overcome my propensity to lose my cool at such trivial moments...

013 | Light Before Electricity

January 13, 2017 21:02

150 years ago our day to day experience of light came in one of 4 forms: 1. Sunlight. 2. Moonlight. 3. Starlight. 4. Firelight. In a world where we increasingly rely on Electricity I wonder what the effects of that are to us all and if that's the root behind recent statistics that the current generation will die earlier than their parents...

012 | Pride

January 12, 2017 21:57

Pride. It's an emotion that doesn't come freely. But in my view it's not just worth it, experiencing it is among the highest peaks we can reach in the human experience.

011 | From Confusion To Clarity 2.0

January 11, 2017 23:43

I have a chaotic mind. After spending years interested in productivity I composed a planning model to make order out of my chaos. I've used it consistently since. I call it 'Confusion To Clarity'. But recently I noticed it was missing a crucial component and I'm updating it for 2017 and beyond.

010 | Optimal Learning Mindset

January 10, 2017 23:59

Learning free from anxiety, with acceptance...

009 | What's Your Story?

January 09, 2017 23:55

What stories are you telling yourself? For my whole life until the middle of 2016 I told myself I wanted to go to the Gym but didn't because I consistently couldn't be bothered. That was my story. When I saw it for that, a story, I changed it by ignoring the "can't be bothered" part. It's more than 6 months later, I go to the gym 4-5 times a week and I have a new story. "I go to the gym."

008 | Choices

007 | Breaks

January 08, 2017 00:00

Lately I've been feeling burned out. So I've been researching types of breaks. I've come up with 6 categories...

006 | Nuts About Soaked Nuts

January 06, 2017 22:31

My new breakfast, nuts. But not just nuts, soaked nuts. It's become something of a ritual...something that I feel is feeding my brain when it wants fed, first thing in the morning.

005 | Giving

January 05, 2017 22:11

When I learned the distinction: "The art of giving is giving something wants to receive" I thought I had it all worked out. But in reality perhaps the opposite has been true until recently. Now though I think I've realised the error of my ways...

004 | Manipulating Brain Frequencies

January 04, 2017 22:42

At the end of 2015 I experienced a productivity slump. Seeking solutions I embarked on a Google search that led me to the world of Brain frequencies. I discovered that at any moment, depending on what we are thinking or doing our brains are oscillating in one of 4 main frequency ranges: 1. Delta. 2. Theta. 3. Alpha. 4. Beta. I learned we are in Delta during deep sleep. Theta when in the dream state. Alpha when studying/concentrating. And Beta is our normal waking state. With this awarenes...

003 | Achilles Heel and Email

January 03, 2017 22:37

Achilles Heel and Email. One of my weak points is email. If I get an email I deem unsavoury to me it often calls out “Hit reply right away. Read this person the riot act.”, that rarely serves the greater good. Recently instead of creating drama when triggered by an email I’d rather not receive I took time to reflect what was behind the sender’s bad manners, poor choice of words and aggressive tone. That enabled me to transcend head-to-head thinking into heart-to-heart communication where an...

002 | The Wisdom Chair

January 02, 2017 19:00

I'm often operating in automatic mode. I get up. Eat. Work. Eat. Sleep. All without taking time out to really thing. After buying a chair I had wanted since a child I did some thinking. I've kept the chair for that purpose since. It's not any chair, it's my Wisdom Chair. I chair for thinking. And I think we should all have one or our own version.

001 | Rules

January 01, 2017 23:17

Rules. I'm naturally a non-conformist. Many a time when I have tried to exist within group-thinks in society where the rules are long I have consistently felt as if I was swimming against the tide. For example, being a non-conformist often living without rules I've found myself getting up in the afternoon in the past. That's no bueno. During a religious experience I realized being a non-conformist doesn't bar me from benefitting from the regularity that rule-following provides. I can make my ...
