Sheesh it has been a tough year. As I reflect on the roller coaster ride that was 2020, I notice how practicing equanimity and managing my emotions was key to staying center and creating more clarity. In my solo show, I explore how we can be and notice our emotions without labeling ourselves or attaching to the emotion too tightly so that we can create more balance and spaciousness. As Thich Nhat Hanh says, " Whatever strong emotion arises, if we learn to practice mindfulness of that emotion, acknowledging the emotion and not suppressing it or acting on it, then transformation occurs and we are able to find more joy, peace and awareness."
