This nursery rhyme isn’t true: “Sticks and stones may break our bones, but words will never hurt me.” Words do hurt and maybe the ones we think or say about ourselves hurt us the most. We don’t always have to say negative things that are true. And we can sometimes describe action or feelings without using “I identity” statements. Learn why and how!
