We all have a passion for the work we do and the mission we’re on, but we often struggle to communicate our expertise to others.

This makes content creation hard. Real hard.

Online content creation might seem daunting but it’s really all about including the audience and creating a narrative that provides them with value.

Jimmy McKay turned a podcast interview into his dream job and shares how to better communicate and create content that educates your audience, attracts new clients and customers, and helps people live better lives.

About Jimmy McKay, AKA The Jimmy Fallon of Physical Therapy

Jimmy McKay has lived many lives, with extensive experience working in radio, podcasting, and physical therapy. Jimmy loves to take dense, scientific, and medical information and package it in an understandable and engaging way.

Finding his sweet spot at the intersection between communication and physical therapy, Jimmy has found a way to marry his two passions and use the power of storytelling to change lives.

Good Content Is All About Your Audience

When it comes to your content, the most important person is always your audience. Jimmy stresses the importance of respecting your audience's time and attention, and including them in the conversation.

This is done by having a clear narrative in your content and remembering the basics of communication. Make sure to be tight, bright, and informative, and you'll more easily capture and hold your audience's attention.

Using Content Creation to Drive Business Results

While Jimmy has two podcasts of his own, having produced over 750 episodes between them, he also runs three more shows as Director of Communications at Fox Rehabilitation.

On top of those podcasts, Jimmy helps his colleagues, wellness experts who are incredibly knowledgable and passionate about what they do translate that knowledge and passion into helpful and engaging content. This often involves helping them work through doubt of their own expertise and fear of the various media platforms they don't feel equiped to use.

By removing the barrier of fear, seeking out points of failure in your content, and consistently putting out good, focused information, you can get your content in front of the right people.

Jimmy shared the value of focusing on incremental improvement rather than attempting to make massive changes all at once. What's something you're currently working to improve incrimentally? Leave me a voice message to have your response featured on an upcoming episode.
