On this episode, I sit down with fellow licensed therapist, Melissa Munoz, LMFT. We discuss the children’s book, Why, written by Adam Rex and illustrated by Claire Keane. This story is about a young child who meets a villain who wants to rule the world. By sitting back and asking the question, “Why?” over and over, the young child manages to change the outcome of villain’s goal. This story conveys the importance of listening without judgment, supporting a child in their struggle, feeling understood, and the how there are reasons behind behaviors. The recommended reading age for this book is 3-5 years old.
